new to candle making quick questions about weights and labels

I'm just starting to get into candle making and I'm hoping to turn it into a small business eventually. I've been learning a lot but still have a few questions.

When it comes to measuring wax with water, is it better to use ounces or should I switch to pounds and ounces? Also, when you measure, do most of you round the numbers up, down, or keep them as they are?

For labeling my finished candles, does the net weight need to be spot on, or is it fine to round that off as well?

I'd really appreciate any tips from those of you with more experience

Just stick to ounces or grams for consistency even for larger batches since it makes the calculations simplier. I try to be exact as possible especially with ingredients like the fragrance oils since it affects the quality.

For labelling, this needs to be quite accurate from what I know. should be listed in both ounces and grams, referring to the weight of the of the wax and wick but doesn't include the container. hope this info helps!

Use weight, not volume, stick to ounces or go full pounds/ounces if you're batching big and don't round when you're measuring then for labeling, you can round to the nearest 0.5 oz if you must but keep it honest
